Monty

This is the lovely Monty, a five-year-old border collie who lives in the Cotswolds with his owners, Mark and Wendy. Mark commissioned the artwork of Monty as a surprise Christmas gift for Wendy, who loved the picture. There is something about the head tilt and appealing eyes in this photo and I absolutely loved drawing him.

This picture took around 26–30 hours over six weeks to complete and was drawn on A3 Winsor & Newton smooth cartridge, with Faber Castel pencils ranging from 4B–2H.
