Hello, and welcome to my website! I will start with a little about myself and my art journey so far. My name is Debbie Prowles and I am married and have two sons, a dog and a cat. We live in a lovely part of the UK on the south coast in Bournemouth.

I have loved drawing, painting and all kinds of crafting for as long as I can remember. In particular, drawing with pencils, working with pastels and painting with acrylics.

My other love has always been animals and I currently work for a local animal rescue charity, Margaret Green Animal Rescue based in Dorset and Devon.

I thought it made sense to combine the love of animals with my love of drawing, so I joined an animal portrait graphite art class. I started with my own dog, Lucy, who is a Labrador cross and during the classes covered all kinds of animals. (Please have a look through the gallery to view these pictures.)

I love doing these animal portraits, and one of the best moments is seeing the pleasure it gives the client when they see their artwork for the first time. Each artwork takes many hours to complete, from planning, drawing out, many hours shading, then mounting and if required, framing.
